Umzumbe residents elect Progressive Civics Congress structure

The newly elected secretary, Nokuthula Mnguni, described the PCC as a community organisation that works with every resident of South Africa.

The Progressive Civics Congress (PCC) recently elected its Umzumbe Municipality structure.

Residents from Wards 1 to 20 in Umzumbe elected their new PCC members at Makhoso Primary School in Mtwalume.

Mike Phungula was elected as chairperson, Nduduzo Ngaleka as deputy chairperson, Nokuthula Mnguni as secretary, Nokuthula Shabalala as deputy secretary, Themba Nyawose as treasurer and Thelumusa Mchunu as organiser.

The newly elected secretary, Nokuthula Mnguni, described the PCC as a community organisation that works with every resident of South Africa.

“It is not a political party, but it is open to working with every resident, regardless of which party they belong to. For example, if residents are affected by a natural disaster, we mobilise and seek help for them,” she said.
Mnguni added that the PCC’s mission is to advocate for the local community and to address their needs with the municipality.

She said they aim to encourage people across South Africa to come together.

“The organisation wants people to come together and speak with one voice in saying that the land must return to its people. People must work together to create job opportunities in South Africa,” she said.

Additional members were also elected. These include Jabulani Dube, Nompumelelo Blose, Nompumelelo Msomi, Sbahle Mkhithi, Sbusiso Mbesa, Aphiwe Mdletshe, Monica Msabala, Pinky Gcwensa, Zweh Mkhungo, Fezekile Maluleka, Thobile Ncwane, Sbonelo Dahile, Ngcebo Ncwane, Sanele Mdletshe, and Nkosinathi Ngcobo.
