Prepare for bigger and better at XJ 10 race

The excitement is building as the XJ Athletics Club prepares to host the second edition of the XJ 10 Race in Emaxesibeni this Sunday.

This year’s event will feature a 10km race, a 5km race, and a fun walk, with the start and finish taking place at Emaxesibeni Stadium. The 10km will begin at 07:00, followed by the 5km at 07:15.

Entries are open both online and through manual registration points across the Alfred Nzo District, including local municipality offices and filling stations in Emaxesibeni, Mt Abo, KwaBhaca, Kokstad, and Mbizana.
Registration fees are R120 for licensed 10km runners, R180 for unlicensed 10km runners, and R100 for 5km participants (no temporary licenses required).

Although the free T-shirts have already sold out, runners will be able to purchase them at the registration venue. Organisers have also confirmed that every finisher will receive a medal.

The XJ 10 Race is fast becoming a highlight on the athletics calendar, following the success of its first edition last year. With growing interest and numbers climbing daily, athletes are encouraged to secure their entries as soon as possible.

XJ Athletics Club continues to grow strongly, with members competing at marathons across the country and abroad.

Recently, seven athletes represented the club at an international event in Berlin, Germany – a major achievement in terms of branding and recognition for the local team.

“We are proud of the growth of our club, both nationally and internationally. Having seven of our athletes compete in Berlin was a big step for us and helped put our name on the map. We know medals are important for runners, and we can assure all finishers in this year’s race will receive one,” said XJ PRO, Bonginkosi Mbotshwa.
