AmaZulu king, Misuzulu KaZwelithini, has called on citizens of KwaZulu-Natal to unite.
KaZwelithini was speaking at the royal wedding ceremony of Inkosi Sthembiso KaZwengu Lushaba of Oshabeni Traditional Authority and Princess Nokwanda Buthelezi-Lushaba of Buthelezi Tribal Authority from Nkonjeni in Ulundi.
The ceremony took place at Oshabeni location, near Port Shepstone recently. KaZwelithini said since he took over the kingship, this was his first Inkosi wedding.
His kingship was challenged by his older half-brother, Prince Smakade, who had taken the matter to the Supreme Court of Appeal, which on Monday, October 6, ruled in favour of KaZwelithini.
Speaking to scores of people, the King said: “I beg you Mageba (Zulu) children. I bow to you, please do not start celebrating. This is not to celebrate, but time to unite more than before. You may have heard the court ruled in favour of me, but please let us not celebrate.”

He said they need to scrutinise why royal matters end up being decided by the courts. He describe the situation as shameful, saying everyone knows that there should be only one king at a time.
“My father, King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu had many children. It cannot be said all of us should be kings. The truth came out in court,” he said.
Furthermore he added that he aims to build good relationships with amakhosi from the South Coast.
