Golfers Mercia, Miranda make merry at Port Shepstone Country Club

Golfers and sponsors were thanked for making it a memorable day.

There was an excellent turnout of 108 golfers for the Izotsha Primary Golf Day at Port Shepstone Country Club last Saturday.

With a course in superb conditions the golfers were rewarded for good shots.

The atmosphere was vibrant with a number of sponsored watering holes adding to the fun.

Golfers and sponsors were thanked for making it a memorable day.

Winners were Mercia Goldswain and Miranda Botha on 52 points. Mercia has been in top form of late, recently winning the KZN ladies’ Interclub with Kim Strauss.

In second place on 47 points were Dr Ayoob Bux and Ganes Munsami.

Two pairs had 46 points, namely Ruan Irving and Zane Goldswain, and Tyrone Lepan and Dale Potgieter.

Fifth place went to Andries Fourie and Wesley Middleton on 44 points, one ahead of Rudi and Ilse Steyn as well as Sydney Shingange and George Bowie.

Henry Cockroft and Sachin Kalkapersad picked up eighth prize on 42 points.

Nearest the pins: Kyle Allan (5th), Allan Clark (8th), Jesse Verster Jnr (14th) and George Bowie (17th).

Longest Drive (18th): Tyrone Lepan (men) and Nicole New (women).

The Wednesday competition was won on 40 points by Smittie Stieger 40 points, with Howard Crouch next on 39 points, then Ian Stewart and Allan Rowley tied on 36 points.

The Hibiscus Coast Electrical Fowl Friday saw Gevan Jack, Jesse Verster Jnr and Allan Clark all take home chickens.
