Ray Nkonyeni Municipality mayor inspects projects

At the Margate Hall Reconstruction Project, the municipal leadership expressed satisfaction with both progress and workmanship.

The mayor of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, Zodwa Mzindle, together with the speaker Phumlani Gumbi, kicked off  Operation Siyahlola recently.

The operation aims to inspect the progress and quality of various infrastructure projects implemented by the municipality through appointed contractors.

They visited the Margate Hall reconstruction project, where the leadership expressed satisfaction with both progress and workmanship.

The spokesperson for RNM, Simon April, said during the visit to the Extension 3 pedestrian bridge, concerns were raised over the quality of work, and the head of department for Technical Services was instructed to ensure all discrepancies are rectified immediately.

Inspections were also carried out at Nkulu Hall, Nkangeni road and bridge projects in Ward 25 in Gamalakhe; Corner House Ring road in Ward 27 and Mbhele pedestrian bridge reconstruction in Ward 29.

Projects to be visited are: Mansfield Hall in Ward 36; KwaTatane Sportsfield in Ward 21; Nhlanjeni bridge in Ward 9; Nkanyezi Road in Ward 10; Mandla Mzelemu Road in Ward 11 and Hibberdene market stalls in Ward 13.
