Vortex volleyball club triumphs in Mtwalume

The volleyball team fought hard to make their way to the finals against UKZN.

Vortex, a Port Shepstone volleyball team affiliated to the Port Shepstone Volleyball Association (PSVA) took part in the Aqua Darshan Super 5 tournament played at the Nkanini Sports Centre in Mtwalume last Saturday.

The premier league team showed talent and fought hard to make their way to the finals against UKZN. The energy was electric with Port Shepstone fans cheering. The team’s determination and skill paid off, but they lost 2-0 in the final.

“Throughout the tournament, the team’s exceptional performance, skill, and determination shone brightly. Every serve, spike, and save reflected their passion for the sport and unity. This victory is not just a triumph for Vortex, but also a proud moment for the entire PSVA community. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and supporters for their dedication, sportsmanship, and pursuit of excellence,” said Akashni Ramsaroop president of Vortex Volleyball Club. Vortex opened in 2021 with just one women’s team and has expanded to four teams over the last four years. The club established itself as one of the top contenders for the PSVA Premier League title and Knockout Cup, further proving their dominance on the court this season.
