Athletes from Ugu region bag medals at karate champs
Ilhaam Amod and Mikhail Peeriyalal have also qualified as regional referees.
A group of elite karateka from the Ugu region travelled to Gauteng recently for the the final KSA League Championship for 2025, with both elite and development division athletes taking part.
The local athletes did the region proud, once again, bring back a tidy medal haul.
They are congratulated on their results, which comes as a result of their skill and hard work.
Elite athletes to receive medals (kumite) were Neriah Peeriyalal (bronze), Tyler Gous (bronze), Ilhaam Amod (gold team, silver individual), Tyrese Faro (bronze), Miguel Gous (bronze).
Ilhaam Amod and Mikhail Peeriyalal have qualified as regional referees and had the opportunity to represent the Ugu region as development referees at the champs.
