7 held for Immigration Act offences in Port Shepstone

The undocumented persons will remain in police custody until processed by the Department of Home Affairs.

A decisive and well organised operation at a business in Bazley Street was conducted by Saps Port Shepstone Crime Prevention, Ray Nkonyeni Law Enforcement and the Department of Home Affairs on Tuesday this week.

At least seven people were arrested for contravention of the Immigration Act and appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Wednesday).
The undocumented persons will remain in police custody until processed by the Department of Home Affairs.

Ongoing multi-disciplinary operations targeting illegal businesses, shebeens and taverns will be conducted throughout the Ugu District to check for compliance, illegal and dangerous weapons and valid residency permits.
