Striders shine at Bluff Marathon
They got to rub shoulders with a past Comrades Marathon champion.
The South Coast Striders had a stellar showing at the recent Bluff Marathon, with several members delivering outstanding performances.
Samuel Naidoo cemented his reputation as a force to be reckoned with, securing back-to-back personal bests and proving his consistency at this level.
In the 21km category, Peter Brino Chidzungu put in a gutsy effort, claiming third place and proving his mettle.
The calibre of the field was highlighted by the presence of 2024 Comrades champion Piet Wiersma (from the Netherlands), who demonstrated why he’s a legend of the sport.
He spent time chatting to the Striders, sharing his knowledge of the sport.
Striders congratulated all those who took part. They can now look forward to a well-deserved break at their year-end event at Margate Country Club.
