Golf’s a gas with par three antics at Port Shepstone Country Club
The course is looking good after some rain.
Par three golf got going for the new year with the Wozani Berg Gasoline Par 3 Challenge at Port Shepstone Country Club.
The format was a betterball scramble and it proved to be a whole lot of fun.
Winners were Tony Fairbairn and Allan Clark on 41.875 points.
In second place were Dick and Natasha Cotterell on 41 points, counting out Brett and Connor Wheatcroft.
In fourth place were Sashen Govender and Kreeson Naicker on 39.125 points, with fifth spot going to Rudi Coetzee and Leon le Roux on 37.25 points.
Longest day went to Zac and Tristan Trollip on 24 points.
Nearest the pins were Brett Wheatcroft (2nd), Zaiden de Heer (9th) and Lesti Coetzee (16th).
Nearest for two were Brett Wheatcroft (13th), Kreeson Naicker (18th).
The Red Wednesday competition is played as an Individual Stableford, with red tees for men and white tees for the women.This was won by Charles Hulley on 39 points, counting out Paul Bunge.
In third place on 38 points was Chris Boyce, with Fanie Terblanche and Gerald Koch next on 37 points.
The Hibiscus Coast Electrical Fowl Friday saw Jenny Hulley and Ken Morris both return 21 points for the nine hole competition.
Allan Rowley had 18 points, with Piet Snyman and Eddie Ringo on 17 points.
The Saturday club competition was won on 41 points by Gavin van Wyk and Cameron Olivant.
Runners-up on 40 points were Chris Boyce and Mark Smith, followed by George Bowie and Gavin Marshall.
