Ugu Youth Office empowers learners with career guidance at Marburg Secondary

The session focused on the application process, subject alignment and career pathways in commerce, science and general studies.

Ugu District Municipality Youth Office has taken on the task to help this year’s matriculants apply early in order to be placed at legitimate tertiary institutions next year.

Representatives from the office visited Marburg Secondary on Monday this week. Here they hosted a Central Applications Office university application information sharing session. The aim of this session was to empower learners with valuable career guidance.

The team was led by Mondli Ncane, the Youth Office manager, who together with his colleagues left the learners with essential knowledge.

In a statement the municipality said: “The session focused on the application process, subject alignment and career pathways in commerce, science and general studies, helping learners make informed decisions about their subject choices and future qualifications. Learners were encouraged to align their current subjects with their desired career paths to improve access to higher education opportunities.”

Furthermore, the municipality is committed to youth development and skills empowerment, ensuring that young people are well-equipped to plan for their futures with confidence and clarity.
