New political party vows to take Ugu in local government elections
Africa Mayibuye Movement's president, Floyd Shivambu, assured the community that the party will bring a positive change to the lives of people.
The new kid on the political block, Africa Mayibuye Movement, has vowed to take Ugu District in the 2026 local government elections.
It made this declaration when it met with its new members and community members at Dlovinga Community Hall at Izingolweni recently.
This declaration was made in a packed hall in the presence of KwaCele clan leader, Inkosi Simphiwe Cele, who said he hates the lies of politicians, but was happy this political party had fulfilled its promise of helping the needy in that area.
Led by its president, Floyd Shivambu, accompanied by some members of his high command structure, provincial and district leadership, he urged party members to come up with solutions where the community needs help.
“We are your servants. We are here to surrender ourselves before you. Everything that you want to see happening in government and in the municipalities, we are here to be sent by you because there is nothing that we do without consulting the people,” said Shivambu.
He assured the community that the party will bring a positive change to the lives of people.
Shivambu emphasised respect for amaKhosi and religious leaders, saying the party is one of action, not only talk. He donated over 300 pairs of shoes to be distributed to schools in the area, and two wheelchairs.
Meanwhile, Cele encouraged unity within the community, saying political parties will come to them as the local government elections looms, but all along they were nowhere to be seen.
