Freedom fighter celebrated in style in Umuziwabantu

Monwabisi Sonwabo has dedicated his life to the fight for the liberation of all South Africans.

Umkhonto Wesizwe Party (MKP) leaders and members gathered at Umuziwabantu Municipal Hall last Sunday, to celebrate Commander Monwabisi Sonwabo’s 63 years of liberation struggle.

Speakers described Sonwabo (78) as one of the freedom fighters who dedicated his life to the fight for the liberation of all South Africans from the chains of the apartheid government.

MKP Umuziwabantu secretary Sthembiso Dlamini said Sonwabo served for a long time with loyalty and commitment.

“That is why we as the MKP decided to shower him with gifts such as a sheep, blankets, a cake cutting and the singing of struggle songs. We celebrated him as a living legend and wished him many more years to come.”
