Church leaders pray for community safety in Gamalakhe

Social ills triggered Gamalakhe Ward 27 church leaders and councillor Mdumiseni Cele to hold a joint prayer, asking Almighty God to intervene and free His people from the grips of crime, poverty and gender-based violence (GBV).
Church leaders and congregants asked God to bring peace and stability in the community.
This prayer was held at KwaXaba Community Hall recently.
Cele said the gathering also prayed for children as schools have re-opened.
“We prayed for a safer scholar transport. We asked Father God to protect us from crime in the area and to stop GBV. What we also prayed for is the end to poverty in our area and unemployment because we need jobs, we want our people to get employed and dismantle the shackles of poverty.”
He added their prayer was successful with different church leaders, pastors, congregants, followers, and community members in attendance.
“We were pleased to be joined by our local municipal leadership led by Mayor Zodwa Mzindle who graced our prayer and prayed together with all attendees. We wanted to start this year from a faith-based foundation with God on our side as the community and leaders,” said Cele.
Mzindle appreciated the joint prayer and committed her municipality to work with all stakeholders, striving to create a safe community.
