Junior cricketers shine at KZN trials
The tournament went well for the young cricketers.
The future looks bright judging by some of the results produced by the Southern KZN U11 cricket team at the recent KZN trials held in Durban.
They played five, lost one and had one game abandoned.
Eben Schoeman, who captained the team, emerged as the star with the bat, scoring an undefeated century on the final day. He turns 10 in May.
Iwan Juan Potgieter led the way with the bowling, ably assisted by Bin Muhammed, Nkokeli Ndemeni and Reid Cumming.
Ezra Langton showed his qualities as an all-rounder, doing well with bat and ball.
The squad was (in alphabetical order): Cody Buys, Reid Cumming, Matthew Keudel-Shaffer, Ezra Langton, Rourke Louw, Luzuko Madlala, Joash Moonsamy, Bin Muhammed, Nkokeli Ndemeni, Enzo Ntombela, Iwan Juan Potgieter and Eben Schoeman.
Coaches were Gershion Lawrence, Jayden Scholtz and Brinley de Bruin.
