House at last for St Faiths family

After many years of waiting, the family will receive a RDP house soon.

After trending on social media because of their house, the Ntenza family from St Faiths in Mqangqala area under Umzumbe Municipality, has finally received help.

This family has been living in a structurally unsafe home with holes in the walls and roof, and no proper flooring.

The family of three included 98-year-old Anthony Netenza, who was taken care of by his daughter, Delisile Ntenza, and her 10-year-old disabled grandson.

Unfortunately, Anthony died before a proper house could be built for his family.

The speaker of Umzumbe, who is also an IFP deputy chairperson, Simphiwe Jika Mthethwa, promised to build a house for the family.

Mthethwa said he visited the family to investigate the matter and to also hand over groceries and donate a wheelchair.

He added that blocks and cement have been delivered to the site, with construction starting soon, so that the family has a proper roof over their heads.

According to Delisile, things have been bad, especially when it rained and or in heavy wind because she has to find large stones to place on the roof.

The family applied for a RDP house years ago, but have not received any help until now.
