* March 27: Run Collective Goggins Challenge
Victoria Forshaw delivered an unforgettable performance at the Run Collective Goggins Challenge in Hillcrest this year, winning for the ladies and securing second place overall in a gruelling test of endurance and mental strength.
Inspired by David Goggins, the challenge requires participants to run four miles every four hours over a relentless 48-hour period. This edition added some unexpected twists, including running with a log, which tested not just endurance but also adaptability and one’s sense of humour.
The changing weather added another layer of difficulty. From encouragement at all hours to thoughtful touches like doughnuts at the early morning runs, the support added a lighter side to an otherwise tough challenge. She clocked a time of 06:51:02, beaten only by winner Cameron Jenkins in 06:13:15.
