Murchison District Hospital’s systems manager retires

Raj 'Doc' Sookdavu Ramharakh plans to take retirement one day at a time.

Murchison District Hospital management and employees bid farewell to long-serving systems manager Raj ‘Doc’ Sookdavu Ramharakh who spent 35 years at the KZN Department of Health, serving the community with dedication.

Ramharakh recently called it a day at a glittering farewell party held at the hospital’s Sharpell Hall, where he was showered with gifts from managers, supervisors and colleagues.

The hospital’s CEO Edward Manyokole thanked Ramharakh for his professionalism, and wished him all the best on his early retirement.

Ramharakh said his to decision to retire came subsequent to the government introducing an early retirement incentive package a few years ago.

“I thank everyone for throwing such a memorable farewell party for me. I appreciate their gifts and everything they have done for me. I thank them for the support they have shown me as their colleague,” said Ramharakh.

He added that he has nothing planned going forward, but for now he will take it one day at a time.
“I thank all colleagues for being part of such a God-centred institution and I am proud to have been a part of the Murchison family. I will do what is possible as God enables and guides me through this journey of retirement.”

Ramharakh further encouraged all staff to continue to persevere in their respective responsibilities entrusted to them, to do it with pride, dignity and respect.

“Always remember that service to humanity is service to God.”
