New office bearers elected at Tweni TC

The meeting started a little earlier than expected.

THE recent Umtentweni Tennis Club AGM was reasonably well attended and the following office bearers were elected: Isabeau le Roux, Reel Fincham, Anne Payn and Colin Barker.

They are thanked for their willingness to stand and are wished a happy term of office. Raj Naganna and the outgoing committee members were thanked for their commitment to the club during the past year.

Tennis was enjoyable until the storm came up and this enabled us to start the AGM a little earlier than scheduled. Visitors, Helgard du Preez and Brett Kjonstad joined in and four courts were well used with some hard-hitting men’s sets providing good entertainment. Despite the rain, several members and friends stayed for the braai and had a good time chit-chatting and imbibing! Thanks to all who provided salads and breads – they were all delicious!

Birthdays in February are Des Smith on the 9th, Trish Wood on the 17th and our favourite non-playing visitor, Peggy Igesund on the 19th. Have a great day and a year of good health and happiness.

Saturday duty: February 7 – Isabeau le Roux; February 14 – Raj Naganna.
