HKC warns pet owners to be vigilant
The first Hibiscus Kennel Club show of 2015 will be held at the Port Shepstone Borough Grounds on February 15.
WITH the start of a bright new year, Hibiscus Kennel Club wishes all members a wonderful 2015. Training takes place every Saturday and fair numbers have turned up for each class.
Members were all so relieved to see that the municipality had had their tractor repaired and the grass has been cut. Thanks to all members who bravely worked with dogs in knee-high grass and also for being patient with the shortage of trainers. The club is doing its best to remedy the situation.
For those who have not returned as yet, a reminder that the club is trying a new programme format. Obedience training is at 3 to 3.45pm for all grades and beginner’s agility is at 3.45pm, followed by intermediate and then advanced classes.
Remember to bring a favourite toy, lead, comfortable shoes, sunblock, head cover and appropriate clothing that allows bending, stretching and unencumbered movement.
Gaby Frey has run two successful agility workshops at the club during January and it was wonderful to see new members, in particular young members, taking part in these workshops.

Remember to be extremely vigilant with pets and if at all possible make sure that passers-by do not have access to them, especially when they are alone at home. The Robertson family lost two border collies to poisoning on Christmas Day.
