Stars and stripes for golfer Simoné (9)

The young girl is showing remarkable talent.

GOLFER Simoné Ferreira (9) has qualified to play in the United States of America later this year.

She travelled with her father Petrus to Bronkhorstspruit last week to compete in an SA Kids qualifying event.

She won comfortably, thus earning the opportunity to travel abroad.

After the first round she was five shots clear, a lead which she would extend by a further five shots in the second round, thus winning by 10 overall.

Simoné is also one of eight KwaZulu-Natal girls who will be playing in Paarl in the Western Cape at the end of March.

But, like all trips overseas, they need to be funded, so while she is out practising, her mom Anet will be baking doughnuts for sale to raise funds towards the trip.
