BLUE Ocean Aquatics held its annual short-distance club championship gala, sponsored by SpecSavers, at the Creston College pool last Friday.
A total of 50 swimmers took part in the different categories and events.
The first three swimmers per race were awarded medals.
All swimmers received points towards the end-of-season age group winners.
Victor and victrix ludorum trophies will be given out at the club prize-giving event later in the year.
Swimmers have also completed the 1500m freestyle and will continue the long distance events at the end of March.
Good luck to the following swimmers who will be taking part in the various SSA national and regional championships all around the country.
Samantha Labuschagne and Michelle Kretzschmar head off to Port Elizabeth for the Level 3 Nationals.
Mandy Koegelenberg (coach) will compete at Masters Nationals in Johannesburg.
Carla Kretzschmar, Britney Pieterse, Denita Pieterse, Bermatt Viljoen and Ricardo Carthew are going to Sasolburg for Level 2 Regionals.
Emma Kuhn, Tamara Venter, Leah and Abigail Wilkins, and Rudi and Andre Steyn are staying local and competing at Level 1 Regionals in Durban.
The BOA Splash Gala will be at Creston College this Saturday, March 7 from 9am.
It’s for those looking for something a little less competitive.
Entries can be taken at the pool before the event. All aged 13 and under are welcome.
