Day 24: Goodbye England, hello KP?
Bang! There endeth England's World Cup nightmare.
ENGLAND, one of cricket’s Big Three, were bundled out of the Cricket World Cup by a spirited Bangladesh today.
No one is surprised really.
They have been unsettled since KP-gate.
They dropped their captain, Alistair Cook. Ironically, he may have provided stability and technique at the top of the order.
With talk about Kevin Pietersen being given some sort of ‘return clause’ it will be interesting to see which direction England take post all this trauma.
For the record, Bangladesh batted first and made 275 for 7.
England were all out for 15 runs less than that.
Mahmudullah made Bangladesh’s first World Cup hundred.
Rubel was Malinga-like at the death.
But you have to admire Bangladesh’s energy and passion. It’s something the Proteas could do with a little of.
Get into the game. Get really excited. But remain calm when delivering the goods.
