Gavin drifts in style, despite some hiccups
The South Coaster is starting to make an impression.
THE Puren Plant Hire & GT Logistics Team attended the first SupaDrift event of the year in Delmas at The Red Star Raceway recently.
It was the first drift event to be held at this venue.
Unfortunately both team members experienced mechanical difficulties with their cars on the Saturday while performing their practice runs.
At the end of the day, Brendan Puren’s BMW E46 could not perform to qualify.
Gavin Puren ended up changing the gearbox in his Toyota Soarer and qualified twelfth.

His first competitive tandem drift was against Jim McFarlane and he had a victory run.
Next he was up against Zein Hussein, which saw him finish in eighth place in the gold cup series.
Gavin also attended the Cambees Midas Drift Championship two weekends ago at The Rock Raceway.
He again qualified in the top 16. He went up against Jim McFarlane and BG Smit; both were victory runs.
Lastly Gavin and Hannes Frans battled it out for third place, but Gavin fell short by only one point and finished in fourth place.
It was a great event and enjoyed by all! Thanks to Tim Stephens and GT Logistics.
