THE winners of the Mooirivier Brokers’ open 2-4-2 last Friday were Roy Baker and Vicki de Beer, from Herman and Sharon Scheinberg.
Session winners were Trevor Heywood and Philip Audibert, as well as Denzil Massyn and Chris Abram.
The next sponsored competition is the Margate Panelbeaters men’s 2-4-2 this Friday morning.
Margate Week starts this coming Monday and promises to be a festival of great bowls. Entertainment has been planned after each day’s play.

THE Warwick Day held last Thursday was won by Brian Cole-Cook, David Lindley and Beryl Laurent, from Aubrey Hood, Estelle Carter and Martiens Zietsman.
In third place were Louise Dry, Royston Townsend and Angie Webb. Sportsman’s prize went to Anji Gold, Val Smith and Rory Lawson.

MARGATE CC
KOBIE Stander, Clive Edmundson and Bill Eccles won the Shelley Beach SuperSpar mixed trips last Tuesday.
Runners-up were Rassie Erasmus, Chrissie Chancellor and Chris Abram.
Session went to Ria van Vuuren, Bruce Coldwells and Jo Olivier. Gary Hess was the lucky 50 /50 draw winner.
There will be no tabs on Monday and Wednesday next week due to Margate Week.
NOMADS
A FRIENDLY reminder that the next Nomads outing will not take place as advertised in the diary, due to Margate Week.
Instead, it will be at the Village on June 7 at 8.30am, followed by a bring and braai.
All bowlers are welcome to join the Nomads.
SOUTHBROOM
WINNING the Tiago’s men’s trips last Tuesday were Barry Christie, Hein Bester and Bill Read.
Runners-up were Neville Holmes, Elliot Nqoko and Duncan Biggar.
First session to Neels Boshoff, Chris Faber and Trebla Lansdell. Second session to Chris Forward, Peter Bennett and Aubrey Hood. 50/50 to Doug Campbell.
Winter times are now in operation.

THE BELL
THE Fruit & Veg 2-4-2 was won by Peet van Rooyen and Susan Fourie.
Second were Arthur and Miriam Seager and the session prize was won by Tony Olivant and Ronel Bourman.
The mixed trips played last Friday was sponsored by Steers/Fishaways and won by Peet van Rooyen, Susan Fourie and Kevin Mullen.
Second were Louw Vermeulen, Keith Harcombe and Michelle Vermeulen. The session prize was won by Derick Celliers, Mike Findlay and Jean Celliers.
The Toyota mixed fours will be played this Friday, May 1.
A memorial service for Bob Gouldie was held at The Bell last Sunday. Sincere condolences are extended to Wendy and family for their sad loss.
Tabs in are played at the club every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon and on Sunday mornings.
There will be a braai following bowls this Sunday, May 3.
PORT SHEPSTONE
WELL done to Maureen Muller, who has once again won the All Cape fours competition playing with her team from George.
Eddie Fann has again been selected to represent South Africa. This time he is playing in a Quadrangular tournament in Zimbabwe.
This event takes place in July. Good bowling, Eddie.
RIVERSIDE
HEATHER Flyng, Jannie van der Nest and Johan van der Westhuizen won the recent Cupboard Value Trips.
Vi Eltis, Ann Osbourn and Arnold Ossendryver were runners-up.
The Fruit & Veg mixed 2-4-2 played last Friday was won by Coenie and Katie Marx (visitors).
Runners-up were Chummy Smith and Norma Louw.
First session went to Dave Barber and Cheryl Thompson. Eddie Louw and Chrissie Chancellor took second session.

CONGRATULATIONS to Elbe Snyman, Dice Graaff and Mike Gower for winning the 7th Heaven mixed two-bowl trips last Tuesday.
Runners-up were Dave Banks, Estelle Carter and Pam Gilson, with the session prize going to Andreas van der Linde, John Keppler and Amy Korner.
Winners of the Beaver Creek Coffee Farm mixed pairs last Friday were Cliff Moakes and Val Smith.
Runners-up were Barry Payn and Lynn Walton. Session prize went to Jokkie and Marianne van Buuren.
The club will hold a quiz this Friday evening at 5pm where boerewors rolls and refreshments may be purchased.
The 3rd draw of the Jokers Wild was won by Rob Lyle and Pat Brand; the accumulative jackpot (joker) has yet to be drawn.

WINNERS of the Dr D’Arcy men’s trips played last Thursday were Bez Bezuidenhout, Danie Human and Bruce Hoyer, with Allan Jacobson, Duncan Randall and Hew Hodgson as runners-up.
Session prize went to Doug Burls, Bob Macfarlane and Nellis Hattingh.
The winners of the Serene Care mixed trips played last Sunday were Geoff Kelleher, Jane Massam and Cosmos Gumede, with Brian Marriott, Molly Williams and Bob Moroney as runners-up.
The in-house two-bowl trips will be played on Friday, May 8, in the afternoon.
UMTENTWENI
DUMISANI Madlala and Kitty Cochman won the recently played J Cee Sounds mixed pairs from runners-up Dennis and Jenny Graham. John Wallis and Jean Celliers took the session prize.
Mada Lindeque and Dumisani Madlala (stand-in) won the women’s 2-4-2 played last Thursday, from runners-up Marie Fourie and Eudelle Caney.
Sandy van Niekerk and Delia Lews took the session prize.
The next event is the Harbour View SuperSpar (in-house) mixed pairs this Friday, followed by the South Coast Herald men’s pairs next Tuesday.
BANNERS REST
THE Indulgence women’s pairs played last Wednesday was won by Helen Cock and Rita Zietsman, with runners-up Pam Cole-Cook and Vi Pells.
Second session was won by Hazel Delaney and Amy Körner, with the 50/50 board going to Vi Pells.
Next sponsored competitions are the Banners Rest mixed pairs this Friday, and the Tops Port Edward men’s pairs this Sunday.
The draw for the club men and women singles championship, as well as the entry form for the KBA novices (closing date May 25) are on the notice board.
Birthday wishes go to new member, Mary Phelps, on May 5.
VILLAGE
THE winners of the Wingnuts mixed 2-4-2 were Bill Parfitt and Audrey Faux, followed by Norman Isherwood and Val Kirkbright,
Sessions went to Hein Bester and Rosemary Esterhuysen and to Lucas Barnard and Anne Riley on a count out from Don Fowler and Chris Haslam. Denzil Massyn won the 50/50.

HIBBERDENE
THE usual drawn mixed trips was played on a 3-2-1 scoring with three bowls pairs.
Winners were Ann Mattthysen and John Hoyer, followed by Hennie van Jaarsveldt and Callie Quinn.
Third prize was won by Bez Bezuidenhout and Joey Venter. Thanks to Wimpy and Cutting Edge for the sponsorship.
The Saturday league started last Saturday with the women’s format being two-bowl trips with two teams from each club.
Their scores were amalgamated for results, 18 ends were played then tea and another 18 ends finishing by 1.30pm in the afternoon. The men play fours + 21 ends.
There will be a nominated competition of trips this Friday sponsored by Chris Shone and Harcourts Scott Bay.
