THE SuperSpar Port Edward Mixed Trips last Wednesday was won by Ron Camps, Val Smith and Joan Fowler, with runners-up Jokkie van Buuren, John Keppler and Leoni Booth.
Second session went to Barry Payn, Vi Pells and Phillipa Rowney and the 50/50 board to Chris Forward.
Next sponsored competitions are the Banners Rest Women’s Pairs on Tuesday, May 26 and the Kinsey Trophy Selected Mixed Fours at Port Edward on Friday, May 29.
A donkey derby will be held at The Breezeway this Friday, May 22 at 6pm.
Birthday wishes go to president Brian Cole-Cook on May 26.
HIBBERDENE
THE monthly nominated Re/Max Mixed Trips played last Friday saw Jan Oosthuizen, Chris Snyman and Helene Oosthuizen the winners.
Jenny and Dudley Isemonger with Dennis (The Menace) Lewis were second. Session prize went to Apie Putter, Annetjie Human and Estelle Quinn.
The competition next Friday is drawn trips, sponsored by the Jolly Roger.
There are less than two weeks to Hibiscus Week. It seems that there are 40 teams involved.
A big thank you to Ockert Kilian from Hibberdene Upholstery for repairing the umpire’s box when the handle broke.
MARGATE BC
WINNERS of the Hopdens Kwikspar Women’s 2-4-2 were Marianne van Vuuren and Mary Warner.
Session winners were Angi Gold and Pat Ruperto.
The Martin Electronics tabs-in open trips are today (Thursday, May 21). Prize money is R1 200.
There will be free boerewors rolls after the Uvongo Spar Open Trips this Friday, which starts at 1pm for 1.30pm, followed by the Club draw.
Non-members are more than welcome to come and put their ‘visitor’s tab’ in for the attendance lucky draw.
Social bowls is on Sunday, followed by a bring and braai. Please check the rosters for tea, bar and office duties.
MARGATE CC
IN the Engel & Volkers Men’s Fours, Barry Christie’s team from the Village had a good win against Barry Delvin’s team to move up to the number one spot in the ladder.
Ken Tonge’s team also had a good win over Denzil Massyn’s team and, on a shot count out, got the gold for the day.
Ken’s team included Chris Forward, Danny McCarthy and Mike Jefferies.
Silver winners were Martiens Olivier, Clive Edmundson, Trebla Lansdell and Bill Eccles.
Bronze winners were the new team from Southbroom, namely Graham Fisher, Neels Boshoff, Hans Wijtman and Doug Cambell.
Clive Edmundson won the 50/50 draw. On duty from May 25 are Eula Greer, Jean Westerman and Clive Edmundson.
MUNSTER
WELL done to Helen Cock and Pat Ruperto on winning the Drawn Ladies’ Pairs Open sponsored by High Rock.
The regular comp was won by Llewellyn Angus, Rob Lyle and Ritz Zietsman, with runners-up being Ron Camps, Val and Tony Smith.
Session went to Dice Graaf, Martiens Zietsman and Leoné Bloem. Board – Rob Lyle.
The club will be holding Candlelight Bowls on Friday, June 5, followed by a bring and braai. All welcome.
PORT EDWARD

The annual Kinsey Trophy Mixed Fours will be contested on Friday, May 29.
Teams from Port Edward and Banners Rest will be trying to wrest the trophy from Munster .
PORT SHEPSTONE
A MOST enjoyable Restoration Cup was held last Sunday, sponsored by Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach.
The bowls competition took the format of two games of mixed trips played in the morning.
Winners were Kieran Dacey, Sharolyn Dacey and Steve O’Moore.
Runners-up were Ron Weddell, Anne and John Gibson.
Alan Booth won the generous hamper donated by Halfway Toyota.
RIVERSIDE
THE next competition is the Cupboard Value Open Trips today (Thursday, May 21) at 1.15pm.
Pony Night is tomorrow (Friday, May 22), starting with twilight bowls at 3pm, followed by a bring and braai.
The Shelly Beach SuperSpar Mixed Trips is this Sunday, May 24.

Session prize went to Ann Barkway, Denise Nel and Sandy Shepherd.
The South Coast Herald Mixed 2-4-2 will be played today, May 21 and the Geochem Mixed Trips this Sunday, May 24.

Second place went to Jaques and Jan Snyman with Sheenagh Dempster and Karen Delaney.
Eric Grierson and Isabel Prenger won the J.Cee Sounds Mixed Pairs from runners-up Jan Huygen and Astrid Jackson.
Jan Snyman and Kathleen Simpson took the session prize. The next event is the G&K Women’s 2-4-2 today (Thursday, May 21).

WINNERS of the Hibiscus Retirement Villages Men’s Trips were John Sutton, Tony Simmonds and Bill Reed, followed by Denzil Massyn, Gary Hess and Carl Volker.
