Rampant return for Warriors
Their title hopes in the First Division South league are still alive.
THE Fidelity Security South Coast Warriors bounced back to winning ways in convincing fashion, with a 64-7 win over Durban Harlequins at Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground last Saturday.
Overall man of the match was ‘gas man’ Marcell Sass, playing outside centre in this game.
Captain Juan van den Berg was the forward man of the match.
In total, the Warriors ran in 10 tries, scored by Juandré Coetzee, Juan van den Berg (2), Jaques Petzer-Moore (2), plus four conversions, Theo Nicholls, Marcell Sass (4).
Arnold Kruger knocked over three conversions.
“The Warriors played well and deserved the win. It lifted the club’s spirits and kept our league title defence alive,” said coach Christo Henderson.
“But hard work remains ahead of this weekend’s game against UKZN Durban at home. We know we have to be on the ball for the rest of the season.”
First team plays at 3pm, seconds play at 1.30pm.
Meanwhile, the thirds beat Scottburgh 17-13 last week.
The seconds didn’t have a game as Harlequins couldn’t field a team.
