BANNERS REST
THE Indulgence women’s pairs was won by Pam Cole-Cook and Vi Pells, with runners-up Maureen la Grange and Amorie Schoëler.
Second session went to Denise Brass and Myra Doubell. The 50/50 board was won by Ann McAllister.
Winners of this year’s club drawn men’s pairs were Kotie Snyman and Ally Weir. Congratulations go to Banners Rest club on claiming the Kinsey Trophy from Munster and Port Edward.
Next sponsored competitions are the Banners Rest Mixed Pairs this Friday, June 5, and the Tops Port Edward Men’s Pairs this Sunday, June 7.
The SuperSpar Port Edward Tri-Club takes place at Banners Rest, Port Edward and Munster from June 10-12.
HIBBERDENE
BERNARD Carpenter and Estelle Quinn won last week’s 2-4-2. Jan and Helene Oosthuizen won second prize while Jan and Joey Venter won the session prize.

There was a lucky draw after the prizes were awarded and this was won by Chris Snyman and Louise Shone.
When you read this it will be midway through another Hibiscus Week tournament, sponsored by South Coast Tourism.
MARGATE BC
THE next quiz evening will be held on Wednesday, June 17 so please diarise this date and bring along your family and friends for a fun evening with fish and chips for supper.

THE Shelly Beach SuperSpar Mixed Trips was won by Annette Payne, Trevor Haywood and Danny McCarthy.
Runners-up were Martiens Olivier, Helen Proctor and Dora Vosloo. Session prize went to Bill Brown, Barry Herbert and Dawn Oehley. Clive Edmundson was the lucky 50/50 draw winner.
MCC is lying third in the men’s second league on equal points with The Bell.
MUNSTER
MEMBERS are sad to report the death of ‘Boet’ Bloem. His memorial and final ‘tabs in’ was held at the club on Monday this week. He will be sorely missed by all members and thoughts go to his wife Leone and family.
Winners of the Dolphin Mixed Trips were Tommie Dry, Margaret Moakes and John Keppler. Runners-up were Gawie Bosman, Derek Wicks, and Lyn Walton. Session went to David Lindley, Val Smith and Grant Walton. Board to Dice Graaf.
NOMADS
AFTER a month’s break, the next Nomads’ outing will be at the Village this Sunday, June 7 at 9am.
There will be a bring and braai after the bowls. All bowlers are welcome to join in with the Nomads.
PORT EDWARD
IT was erroneously reported last week that Tommy Snyman was bowling from a wheelchair at tabs on Saturday, May 17 when in fact it was Tommy Doubell who was back bowling after his leg had recently been amputated.
A very competitive but enjoyable day was had at the greens last Friday, when Banners Rest, Munster and Port Edward fought it out for the annual mixed fours Kinsey Trophy.
The overall winner of the floating trophy was Banners Rest, while one of the sides from Banners, comprising Chris Forward, Glenn Allen, Janet Venter and Vi Pells, won the first prize from a Munster side made up of Cliff Moakes, David Lewis, Pat Ruperto and Rita Zietsman.
Many thanks to Rod Kinsey for his participation at the prize-giving and his announcing that the Kinseys will continue to sponsor the annual tri-club competition.
RIVERSIDE
THE Mixed 2-4-2 sponsored by Fruit and Veg was won by Betty Bolton and John Sutton (visitors). Runners-up were Olwen Gibbs and Bruce Coldwell. First session was awarded to Brenda Smith and Dick Thompson. Sharon Smith and Barry Herbert took the second session.
Thoughts are with Ray Cheetham who was in an accident and is in hospital.
Ray Visser is out of hospital and making good progress.
SOUTHBROOM
WONDERFUL warm weather helped Aubrey Hood, Glen Allen and Steve Rennie win the Wolf Security Open Trips last Thursday. Runners-up were Hein Bester, Nelia Reed and Bill Reed.
First session went to Mal Sheppard, Trebla Lansdell and Peter Roux. Second session went to Mike Gamble, Jimmy Ronald and Monika Zunker. 50/50 to Viv Date.
Heather Roberts and Wynand Bezuidenhout beat all other competitors to win the Fazenda 2-4-2 open competition.
SOUTHPORT
WINNERS of the Fruit & Veg In-house 2-4-2 were Ron Rudden and Marilyn Sinclair with Bob Macfarlane and Sandy Shepherd as runners-up. Third prize went to Molly Williams and Ted Pownell.
The Harbour View SuperSpar women’s trips will be played on Tuesday, June 9 and the South Coast Herald Mixed 2-4-2 is on Thursday, June 11.
THE BELL
THE mixed trips played last Friday was won by Adele Reader, Peter Browning and Val Boshoff.
In second place were Sandy Penny, Stan Penny and Everal Morrison. The session prize went to Maureen Head, Angela Moorhouse and Tony Olivant.
The Warwick tabs in fun event will be played this Sunday, June 7. Please bring a plate of snacks. There will be plenty of prizes. All welcome.
Other upcoming events are Venture Inn/Jaxx Open Trips on June 9 and Captain’s Anchor Mixed Fours on June 12.
VILLAGE
WINNERS of the Execudec Mixed 2-4-2 were Denzil Massyn and Monica Middlewick followed by Carl Volker and Rosalie Bloom.
Sessions went to Bill and Nelia Reed and to Alan Tyers and Denise Palframan. Well done to Monica who also won the 50/50.
The next sponsored competitions are the Hibiscus Retirement Villages Men’s Trips on Tuesday, June 9; the Hibiscus Insurance and Financial Brokers Mixed Trips on Thursday, June 11 and the Martin Electronics Men’s 2-4-2 on Thursday, June 18.
