Shottists display their calibre at compo
Winners of the men’s rifle category were Roelof Meyer, Jacques Pienaar and Herman Pieterse.
THE SA Hunters of Margate held their family fun shooting day last weekend, which turned out to be a fantastic success. From 7am shottists and spectators arrived in droves at the Margate Shooting Range last Saturday.
Winners of the men’s rifle category were 1 Roelof Meyer, 2 Jacques Pienaar and 3 Herman Pieterse. Stephanus Swanepoel came first in the men’s shotgun category, with Frik Myburgh second and Desmond Govender third. Andries van den Berg won the men’s handgun category, Herman Pieterse came second and Stephanus Swanepoel took third place. Basil de Kock won the bow shooting event.
Theresa Hartslief walked off with first place in the women’s rifle and handgun events. Amelia Simms came first in the women’s shotgun category.
Junior winners were 1 Alex Lindenberg, 2 Hardus Grunding and 3 Alex Thiele. The lucky main prize winners were 1 Herman Pieterse (Sodwana holiday); 2 Desmond Govender (WA Waterproofing); and 3 Roelof Meyer (large rifle silencer).
