Rugby sevens stars in the making
The Youth Day sevens tournament has gained in prominence.
HONG Kong, here they come!
OK, maybe not just yet, but there might just be some hidden talent that comes out in the future from the fourth Youth Day sevens’ rugby tournament – organised by the Southern KwaZulu-Natal Referees’ Society – that took place at Creston College last Tuesday (Youth Day).
It was fast, exciting stuff with U11, U13, U16 and U19 sides sprinting up and down the field.
Even ‘Sharkie’ (the Sharks rugby side’s official mascot) made a guest appearance, adding to the fun.
The winning teams were Izotsha Primary (U11), Suid-Natal Primary (U13), Suid-Natal High (U16) and Creston College (U19).
“On behalf of the Southern KwaZulu-Natal Rugby Referees’ Society, we would like to express our most sincere gratitude for the wonderful spirit that the school added to the tournament,” said Giel Minnie, chairman of association.
“It was evident that every child and player enjoyed the day to the full.”
He also congratulated all winners and thanked players, coaches and sponsors.
