TWO big mountain bike events are due to take place on the South Coast next weekend.
First up is the Wild Coast Sun Adventure MTB Fun Ride on Saturday, July 4.
The Wild Coast Sun has introduced this new mountain bike challenge as a prelude to the 2015 Burry Stander Sardine MTB Classic, which will take place on Sunday, July 5.
There are two ride distances for the Adventure, 10km and 20km.
Rides for the Adventure will start and finish at the Wild Waves Water Park.
Pre-entries are R120 for the 20km and R70 for the 10km. For more details contact Mark 084 5504138.
Riders taking part in the Adventure qualify for free entry to the Wild Waves Water Park for the day, while their families qualify for a 50 percent discount on entrance to the park.
The routes, set by professional trail builder Jan Abbott from Clearwater Trails, take riders on a scenic and challenging course along exquisite private beaches and through diverse and beautiful landscapes.
The Classic will be raced over 40km but there is also a 20km race and a 10km fun ride, recommended for seven-year-olds and upwards, plus a ‘Scooter Dash’ for children aged two to six years old.
Races will start and finish at the Port Edward Holiday Resort.
