Racing was no ‘drag’
Competitors 'smoked it' at the KZN drag racing event held at Dezzi's South Coast Raceway last Sunday.
THE heat was on at a drag racing event held at Dezzi’s South Coast Raceway in Oslo Beach last Sunday.
It was the first of its kind in KZN on the newly-widened 400m race track.
About 100 competitors from all over the country challenged each other to be the ‘king of drags’ and the crowd was kept on its toes.
The event was a resounding success and car fanatics came from far and wide to watch these ‘petrol heads’ burn up the track.
Great music, delicious food and lively commentary added to the excitement of the day.
The crowds were thrilled to see many exhibition cars perform for the first time in KZN, clocking more than 200km per hour.
It was held in conjunction with KZN Drag Racing and ran under the MSA Street Drag Racing rules, in the ‘Heads up Racing’ format.
Fans are looking forward to more ‘hot’ racing in the future.
