BOB Smith and Gerry Davey won the Margate Panelbeaters’ men’s 2-4-2 last week, from Graham Dunlop and Brian Smallberger.

The Margate Week Show (Simply the Best) for members, family and friends will be staged in the clubhouse on Friday, April 29 at 6.30pm for 7pm, at a cost of R30 per person (club members free).

TOMMY and Louise Dry won the Indulgence mixed pairs last week, from Hedley and Lyn Meek. Second session went to Jimmy and Ann McAlistair, board to David Lindley.
The Charlie’s Pizza men’s pairs was won by Sergio Ruperto and Phillip Longden. Runners-up were Aubrey Hood and Steve Rennie. Second session to Leigh Warner and Dave Hume, board to Aubrey Hood.
The 30 Club draw winner was Sergio Ruperto, followed by Janice Golding, Val Smith and Ella Smith.
High Rock mixed trips is to be played on April 28.

NOMADS
THERE was an excellent turnout of 32 bowlers, including two visitors, for the Nomads game at Margate Bowling Club last Sunday.
The day was sponsored by Orange River Wine Cellars. Winners were John Sutton, Anne Waugh and Myra Doubell.
Second prize to Barbara Iceton, Kobus Faber, Maree Rogers and Sandy Ferguson. Sportsman’s prize went to Lenie Geyer, Neville Philpott and Monika Zunker.
Nearest the jack was Deks Zunker. 50/50 draw was won by Allison Dinning.
Thanks to all the Nomads for attending the annual general meeting. Kobus Faber will be the new president, congratulations.
Next outing is at the Village on May 15 at 8.30am. There will be a braai afterwards.
PORT EDWARD
WINNERS of the Rob Lyle open trips were Andries van der Linde, Leigh Warner and Sariena Ziervogel.
Runners-up were Hazel Delaney, Dan Delaney and Aubrey Hood. Third went to Gino Alilovic, Roger Humphrey and Pat Brand.

SOUTHPORT
THE South Coast Herald mixed 2-4-2 is due to be played today (14th) and the Dr D’Arcy sponsored men’s trips next Thursday (21st).
Club championships for 2016 have reached the finals stage where club champion Cosmos Gumede will be challenged by an in-form Don Russouw.
In the women’s singles final, the experienced Jane Massam will have to deal with a fast-improving Sandy Shepherd.
The club intends holding a social afternoon on Monday, May 2 at 1.30pm for 2pm for both social and non-bowlers.
Those interested are encouraged to come along and find out what fun bowls can be. A nominal green fee of R10 and flat shoes is all that is required.

BOTH the greens are now open and playing well, thanks to the hardworking team of green keepers headed up by Alan Tyers. The clubhouse should soon be opening.
