LOCAL riders learnt some of the tricks of the trade from Jodi Pieters, a world-class showjumping rider, when she visited Haven Manor Equestrian Centre in Margate last Saturday.

Jodi is well-known in South Africa and abroad. In 2012, she was second on the national rankings and went on to win the prestigious Riders’ Tour Grand Prize Series.
This year she is ranked number one in the province and has been competing in national competitions for the past 12 years. Jodi qualified for the World Cup Final in Gothenberg and is arguably the most advanced and highly ranked rider to visit the South Coast.
Cheryse Wikstrom was very enthusiastic about rallying the equestrian community of the South Coast.

“I think that events such as these should be more frequent in order to foster talent for competitive riding and to build relationships between people who share a common interest,” she said.
Spectators enjoyed watching Jodi share her knowledge with our local riders. The sponsors were thanked for their assistance.
