‘Bleed Orange’ power to holiday hockey win

After a rocky start the goals started coming from the 'Bleed Orange' team.

PORT Shepstone Hockey Club hosted a five-a-side tournament at Creston College on Freedom Day. Sponsored by Powerade, the tournament was divided into two sections, U14 and U16 and open ages.

The event was played in a round robin format and it was a fun day for everyone with prizes for the age winners, best dressed teams as well as players displaying the most spirit.

Organiser Kelly Rothman stated that she was extremely proud of this tournament. “In such a quick period of time it had become a much talked about fixture on the calendar. It was great to see how they enjoyed this tournament and we certainly look forward to the next one,” said Kelly.

“I believe all players had a great day on the pitch. Many tired young men and women went to bed very well on their Freedom Day.” Winning the tournament was ‘Bleed Orange’. The best dressed team was ‘Ugly Pluckings.’
