Comrades countdown begins

It's time to get those butterflies flying in formation now.

AFTER months of preparation for Comrades 2016, we are only four (sleepless) nights away from our 65 South Coast Striders lining up at the start line, joining the 20 000 runners for the most memorable and gruelling day of their lives.

The Pre-Comrades pasta evening kicks off tonight at 5.30pm with a 5km jog.

Guest speakers include Dix Wridgway and Ivor von Senger.

Then it’s time for carbo-loading food, demonstrations of strapping, and the all-important runners’ predictions, and club gifts.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my amazing committee for all their help and support for our runners with all their training and needs.

A very special thank you goes to running captain Lucky Rambally for organising weekend training runs and and an equally big thank you goes to Beenie Rambally who gets up every Sunday morning to second the runners on the long runs.

Thanks also to Michelle Wridgway who has also helped with the seconding and getting runners to the races. Without a strong committee we could not run a successful club.
