Fabricius reels in Port Shepstone CC matchplay title
It's just the start of many more, one suspects.
GRAHAM Fabricius beat Jarrod van Wyk 6/5 to win the matchplay champs at Port Shepstone Country Club last Saturday for the first time.
He holed everything he looked at and there wasn’t much Jarrod could do about it.
Graham beat defending champion Ganes Munsami 2/1 in the morning, while Jarrod beat his dad Gavin by the same margin. despite being four down at a stage.
It’s been a pretty good season for Graham, who won the Southern KZN Closed at Port Shepstone in January and the KZN Country Districts champs in April, also at Port Shepstone.
He now needs to take that success and reproduce it at ‘away’ courses. No doubt that in time this will happen.
Lizzie Currie won the women’s matchplay, completing a ‘double’ for 2016 as she also won the strokeplay title.
