Uvongo TC prepares for seniors’ tennis

Uvongo Tennis Club, with four courts, will host the popular tournament.

WITH the final date for entries to the KZN Senior’s Tennis Tournament fast approaching – 15th – players still ‘thinking’ about entering are encouraged to do so.

Take advantage of the opportunity of playing a weekend of fun-filled and competitive tennis and enter as soon as possible.

The tournament will take place from July 22 to 24. For more info contact Duncan Biggar at 083 4124389.

Entries have been received from around KwaZulu-Natal, and there will also be several players travelling from other provinces.

All players are assured of a great time. Coca-Cola has come on board with sponsorship.

Other businesses have indicated they will make donations, which will assist in making the event a success.

Spectators are more than welcome. The club is situated just off Edward Avenue in Uvongo.

Pop in any time on Saturday, or on Sunday morning, and watch how tennis can be played. Or simply to enjoy the atmosphere of the event.

In regular club news, the first Saturday of each month will no longer be known as ‘Australian Tennis Day’ as the Pavilion Italian Restaurant which overlooks Uvongo beach and lagoon, has kindly agreed to regularly donate vouchers which will be presented to winners after play.

Members have therefore decided to rename the day as ‘Pavilion Day Tennis’. Regular updates will be provided.
