Super scores at Southbroom
RENE Matthew and Jo Ledden clinched victory in Southbroom Golf Club’s Wednesday comp last week.
Their score of 48 points was six ahead of runners-up, ironically Rene again, as a pivot with Jean Purtell.
Geraldine Treherne and Sandy Fitzgerald had 41 points for third place.
Men’s winners were Gordon Moody and Kerry Fielden on 47 points, edging out Chris Poole and Osie Osborne by one.
One point further behind were Lance Marshall and Roger Hissey.
Friday’s Pharaoh Construction open day alliance was won by Simon Lee, Guy Yeadon, Des Erasmus and Bernie Vorster.
Second were Dries Barkhuizen, Nic van Deventer, Johann Erasmus and Frik van Zyl.
Third place went to Bob Clark, Sandy Fitzgerald, Chris and Jo Ledden.
The Conservancy Day took place last Saturday.
First place in the women’s section went to Jean Corfe and Jeanne Powell on 43 points, followed by Mari Fielden and Joy Crutchfield on 41 points.
In third spot were Jackie van Eeden and Di Morris on 39 points.
There was a fantastic winning score in the men’s section with Kerry Fielden and Gordon Moody blitzing the field with 52 points.
Runners-up were John Neaves and Chris Ledden on 45 points, with Claasen Jacobs and Doug Watson next on 44 points.

Terry takes it with ease
TONY van Niekerk and Chris Boyce won the Wednesday comp at Port Shepstone Country Club last week.
They carded 48 points to win by two from Graham Dickson and Rob Calder, as well as Dave Mee and Brett Pollington.
Saturday’s individual Stableford saw Terry Kotze win by miles on 47 points, six ahead of Jackie van Heerden and Marietjie Stols.
