THE Tops Port Edward men’s pairs played last Sunday was won by Andreas van der Linde and Steve Rennie.
Runners-up were Peter Bennett and Joe Ashworth, and placed third were Brian Cole-Cook and Kotie Snyman. The 50/50 board went to Rob Lyle.
Next sponsored competitions are the GP Security mixed pairs this Friday (5th), the Tops Port Edward men’s pairs this Sunday (7th) and the SuperSpar Port Edward 2-bowl mixed trips next Wednesday (10th).
HIBBERDENE
BEZ Bezuidenhout, Isobelle McManus and Rentie Stevens won the drawn mixed trips, sponsored by The Bourman Group, last week.
Runners-up were Miriam Seager, Jan Venter and Estelle Quinn. Session prize to Jan and Helene Oosthuizen, with Dennis ‘The Menace’ Lewis.
Next competition is the Tiago’s Open Flame nominated mixed trips this Friday (5th) at 1.30pm.
Last Sunday morning saw the finals of the singles champs. Women’s section was won by Alida Munnik, who played Maureen Jonker.
The men’s game between Bez Bezuidenhout and Eddie Milne was won by Bez.
It was a spectacular morning, followed by a bring and braai.
MARGATE BC
WINNERS of the Uvongo Spar open 2-4-2 played last Friday were Alan and Alison Dinning, on shot countback. Runners-up were Allan and Ann Gibson.
First session to Lenie Geyer and Austen Knollys, second session to Barbara Brook and Trixi Smith.
Sunday bowlers will be having a bring and braai on August 9 after a game of bowls, tabs-in at 8.30am.
Bring along friends and family for a fun day. Dress, mufti.
Next 20/20 and target practice will be on Wednesday, August 10 at 9am.
Bowlers wishing to improve their skills are welcome to attend.

DUE to the weather the open trips could not be played, but luckily the club’s singles champs were.
Congratulations to Dora Vosloo on winning the women’s section and to Mike Prinsloo on winning the men’s singles.
Well done to all the competitors, members all enjoyed the tough competition.

UNFORTUNATELY, the sponsored candleza\light bowls was rained off but it didn’t dampen spirits and a great social night was had around the braai in typical Munster fashion.

The High Rock mixed trips last Thursday were won by Dan and Hazel Delaney, with Mike Cartwright.

DESPITE all the rain, there has still been some bowls played.
The Video Plus DVD mixed pairs played last Friday was won by Jokkie and Marianne van Buuren.
Runners-up were Barry Payn and Phillipa Rowney. Session went to Gawie Bosman and Stephanie Harries. The board was won by Frank Foley.
Women’s Day drawn fours this Saturday (6th) in aid of Cansa. Wear something pink. Women to each bring a plate of eats, please.

The women’s trips on Wednesday, August 10 has been cancelled. Sunday bowls this month takes place on August 28.
A very happy bowls and braai took place last Sunday. Sadly, only 20 people took part.
SOUTHPORT
MARIE Coetzer, Barbara Gradwell and Mada Lindeque won the Harbour View Spar women’s trips last Thursday.
Runners-up were Tammy Gibbons, Daphne Hounsell and Pat Maggs. Second session went to Judy Hové, Kitty Cochman and Ellen Gould.
The Dr D’Arcy sponsored men’s trips played the same afternoon was won by Alan Jacobson, Duncan Randall and Hew Hodgson with Norman Ainston, Albert Munnik and Eddie Milne as runners-up.
Second session went to Ian Gordon, Werner Mody and Jan Scholz.
Mixed 3-2-1, sponsored by Serene Care, played last Sunday was won by Geoff Kelleher, Jane Massam and Cosmos Gumede, followed by Mark Bischoff, Judy Hové and Nellis Hattingh.
At the AGM last Saturday, Fanie Strydom was elected president with Bob Moroney vice-president.
TWENI
THE 3rd Avenue mixed fours had to be cancelled due to heavy rain. The Wimpy women’s pairs was won by Susan Fourie and Charmaine van Deventer.
Runners-up were Sharon Bischoff and Caroline Harris, with Michelle Vermeulen and Ann Marie Giblin taking second session.
The next competitions will be the Harbour View SuperSpar mixed pairs this Friday (5th) and the Schooners mixed trips on Monday (8th).
VILLAGE
BRIAN Hughes and Alan Tyers won the Martin Electronics men’s 2-4-2, followed by Carl Volker and Dereck Schorn.
Sessions went to Derrick Shell and Winston van Greune and to Roy Robertson and Bill Parfitt. Bill Latham won the 50/50.
Winners of the Hyundai drawn mixed trips were Hugh Holland, Aileen Ward and Dawn Oehley followed by Denzil Massyn, Nan Sayce and Leon Hampton.
Lucky draw went to Irene Holland.
The RAC draw, followed by a bring and braai, will be held this Friday (5th). The Fruit and Veg tabs in drawn mixed trips will be played this Saturday (6th).
