Final schools volleyball KO around the corner
The countdown to the final schools' volleyball knockout competition has begun.
SCHOOLS are urged to register for the final tournament for 2016. The knockout tournament takes place on Saturday, August 20, at the Marburg Volleyball Complex. As this is a pre-entry tournament, all schools in the Ugu District are urged to confirm by the Monday, August 15 by 2pm. The competition caters for U12, U14, U16 and over 16 divisions.
Schools are expected to follow the date of birth requirements strictly to avoid disqualification with over-age players. The team lists together with the birth certificates or IDs must be presented on the day of the tournament. In respect of confirmation of entries, none will be considered on the day of the tournament as fixtures will be drawn up well in advance.
It is the responsibility of the school to contact the organising officials by the due date to ensure that their teams are entered for the tournament.
Entries can be faxed to 086 5611040 or emailed to psvolleyball@gmail.com. Entry fee is set at R80 per team and schools can enter as many teams as they can afford. The primary schools’ section (U-12 and U-14) commences at 8.30 am and the high schools’ section (U16 and O16) commences at 10.30 am.
Schools from outside the Ugu District are also welcome to take part. The tuck shop for this tournament is being run by the Keshivan Social Club. Schools that want to purchase their special lunch packages for their players can contact Jason Govender at 084 2508875. All profits from the tuck shop go towards the Bread of Heaven feeding programme.
