BANNERS REST
THE Golden Moon Spur mixed pairs played last Friday were won by Peter Bennett and Jaye Russell, with runners-up Barry Payn and Pippa Rowney.
Second session went to Andreas van der Linde and Amy Körner, and the 50/50 board to Pat Brand.
Winners of the Tops Port Edward men’s pairs played last Sunday were Andreas van der Linde and Steve Rennie.
Placed second were Brian Camps and Ally Weir, and third Peter Ziervögel and Dice Graaff. The 50/50 board went to Rob Lyle.
Next sponsored competition is the Golden Moon Spur mixed trips on Wednesday, August 17.
HIBBERDENE
WINNERS of the nominated mixed trips sponsored by Tiago’s Open Flame. were won by Bernard Carpenter, Louise Snyman and Chris Snyman.
Second were Malky McManus, Callie Quinn and Lionel France. Session prize was awarded to Paul Grutter, Pauline Howle and Joey Venter.
Next Friday afternoon is the nominated mixed trips sponsored by Hibberdene Pharmacy. After the winners have been announced, the AGM will be held. Please bring a plate of eats.
There will be no social bowls this Saturday as the club is hosting the All Natal singles.
Congrats to Norman Aiston, Bez Bezuidenhout, Bruce Hoyer and Albert Munnik who came fourth in the recent Scottburgh Week tournament.
MARGATE BC
MEMBERS are encouraged to attend the AGM this Thursday (11th) after a shortened game of bowls.
Winners of the Margate Panel Beaters men’s pairs were Louis Fouche and Reg Sanders.
Runners-up were Dieter Scholz and Shane Nienaber.
Sessions to James Mitchell and Dave Taylorson, as well as Dave Hume and John Keppler.
Next sponsored competition will be the Manaba Kwikspar women’s 2-4-2 on Friday, August 19.

FOOD Lover’s Market day was won by Eddie Louw, Chrissie Chancellor, Cindy Cano and Dina van der Walt.
Runners-up were Yvonne van Mentz, Anjie Gold, Ralph Burls and Marie Rogers.
Third prize went to Kobie Stander, Martiens Olivier, Annette Coomer and Val Erasmus.
Winners of the women’s fours, sponsored by The Hair Shoppe, were Pat Maggs, Yvonne van Mentz, Sheena Dempster and Annette Suther.
Runners-up were Mariaan van Buuren, Leoni Booth, Mary Warner and Estelle Carter. The raffle was won by Barbara Gradwell.
On duty next week are Olwen Gibbs, Anjie Gold and Martiens Olivier.
MUNSTER
ROB Lyle and Val Smith won the Indulgence mixed pairs last week, from runners-up Albert van der Lith and Helen Cock.
Second session went to Aubrey and Penny Hood. Board to Rick Harding.
30 club draw winner was Barry Fowler, then Anthony Card, Rick Harding and Leone Bloem.
The Krafty Chameleon men’s pairs takes place this Friday (12th). Tea duty – Rina Fourie and Denise de Witt.
The club AGM will be held on Friday, August 26 at 5.30pm.
The club will close on Saturday, September 3. Tabs as normal, followed by prize-giving, 30 club draw and braai. Bring salad to share.
NOMADS
THE next Nomads outing will at Southbroom Bowling Club on Sunday, August 21.
All the best to the four members playing in the nationals in Durban, namely Rennie Geyer, Dave Slippers, Eric Chamier and Ian Hatton.
PORT EDWARD
THE Rob Lyle men’s pairs were won by Albert van der Lith and Anthony Card.
Runners-up were Dave Hume and John Keppler. Session winners were Peter Ziervogel and Grant Walton. Board – Anthony Card.
The women’s day drawn trips raised more than R2000 for Cansa.
An informative talk was given by Dianne Saunders of Cansa.
Winners were Joan Lindley, Alice Lumley and Lesley Lawson.
Runners-up were Hazel Delaney, Lyn Walton and Ella Smith. Session to Helen Cock, Leone Bloem and Dinty Cowan.
Best team spirit to Margaret Moakes and Pat Miller. Weekend at Ingeli Forest Lodge was won by Ella Smith.
RIVERSIDE
THE Hopdens Spar open pairs that was to be played on Saturday, August 13 has been postponed to Saturday, September 10.
THE BELL
MEMBERS really enjoyed the Warwick tabs in competition last week. It was very well supported and a great afternoon of bowls was had by all.
There will be no club bowls this weekend as the KZN Open Singles is to be played at The Bell.
The club AGM will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 2pm.
A wake to celebrate the life of Bob Finnemore will be held on Sunday, August 21 at noon.
The Fruit & Veg sponsored 2-4-2 will be played on Tuesday, August 16.
SOUTHBROOM

GEORGE Choromanski and Peter Marsh won the South Coast Herald men’s pairs from runners-up Peter Brewer and Eric Grierson.

Winners of the Harbour View SuperSpar mixed pairs were George and Marie Pick, from runners-up Tony Johnson and Molly Williams. Session prize went to Geoff and Tina Barbour.
The new committee for 2016/2017 is Derick Celliers (president), Tony Korb (vice-president), Tony Aveyard (treasurer) and Susan Delpech (secretary).
VILLAGE
JOHN Sutton, Hein Bester and Bill Reed won the Hibiscus Retirement Villages men’s trips, from Dereck Schorn, Hugh Holland and Mike Ryan.
Sessions went to Roy Robertson, Trevor Anderson and Lucas Barnard and to Mike Prinsloo, Ralph Burls and Hans van der Walt. Ron Canning won the 50/50.
The next sponsored competitions are Martin Electronics men’s 2-4-2 on Thursday, August 18.
Winners of the Food Lover’s Market drawn mixed trips were Dave Garland and Winston van Greune, followed by Bill Parfitt, Charlotte van Niekerk and Leon Hampton.
