Volleyball tournament is set to be a ‘knockout’
Registration for the final tournament of the year closes on August 15.
SCHOOLS are reminded to register for the final volleyball knockout tournament for the year taking place at the Marburg Volleyball Complex on Saturday, August 20.
As this is a pre-entry tournament, entries for all schools in the Ugu district close at 2pm on Monday, August 15.
The competition caters for U12, U14, U16 and over 16 divisions. Schools are expected to follow the date of birth requirements strictly to avoid disqualification with over-age players. Team lists together with birth certificates or IDs must be presented on the day of the tournament.
It must be borne in mind that as fixtures will be drawn up in advance, none will be considered on the day of the tournament so it remains the responsibility of schools to contact the organising officials by the due date. Entries can be faxed to 086 5611040 or emailed to psvolleyball@gmail.com.
Schools from outside the Ugu district are also welcome to take part.
The tuck shop for this event is being run by the Keshivan Social Club and schools wanting to purchase their special lunch packages for their players should contact tournament chairman, Jason Govender at 084 2508875. All profits from the tuck shop go towards the Bread of Heaven feeding programme.
