Social volleyball brings excitement
The volleyball complex was abuzz with players and their supporters.
VOLLEYBALL players dusted off their shoes in preparation for the social volleyball tournament, organised by City Boys and Falcons Volleyball Clubs at the Marburg Sports Complex last Saturday.
Teams traded power attacks and showed brilliance in defence.
There was non-stop action from the first whistle as many players, who rolled back the years as yesterday’s heroes, fought their way into the finals.

They made some power hits that had the youth looking on in awe.
Social teams, schools, local businesses and other sporting bodies and religious organisations entered and it is now set to become a regular fixture on the volleyball calendar.
It was a family event with the emphasis on socialising and enjoying the game of volleyball. In the women’s finals it was a nail-biting match between Dynamos and New Covenant Ladies (NCL) and NCL won.

In the non-competitive finals, Potters House Ministries (PHM) and Youth in Action did battle and PHM won, while in the competitive finals City Boyz B took on Convenant Players and Convenant Players proved victorious.
The next social volleyball tournament takes place at the Marburg Sports Complex on Saturday, September 17.
