Umtentweni Tennis Club needs a retractable roof

Hopefully the weather will be better today (Saturday).

TENNIS at Umtentweni Tennis Club was nearly another wash-out, for the third Saturday this month. (Might be time for a retractable roof).

However, the dedication and persistence of 10 members ensured that tennis was played through the on/off drizzle, on soaking wet courts and with tennis balls that felt like lead balloons dripping with water.

They all had an enjoyable afternoon.

Members were pleased to have Foxy Norton back on court after time off with a sore shoulder, and to welcome visitor Rod Hackland.

On Saturday evening (in more heavy rain and wind), a few members enjoyed a pre-birthday supper at Schooners to celebrate Reel Fincham’s happy day.

Chantelle Donald is on duty on September 24 and Dan Dimitriu on October 1.
