Shaun aces gruelling race

A whole lot of endurance was required.

THREE young Munster residents pitted themselves against the mighty Drakensberg recently to test their fitness and endurance.

The annual ‘Run the Berg Trail Run’ challenge took place in the Bergville (Northern Berg) area over two days.

Kim and Andrew Stewart and Shaun van Eeden set off along the rocky trail, negotiating very steep climbs and descents.

The men entered the 50km extreme event (25km each day), and Kim successfully finished the tough 30km run.

Andrew unfortunately had to pull out of Sunday’s run due to a knee injury. Shaun did extremely well to finish such a hard race.
