Sheppie back in golf league hunt
Umdoni Park are odds on favourites to win the league.
MARGATE Country Club squeezed out a 6,5-5,5 win over traditional rivals Southbroom Golf Club in Round Four of the Southern KwaZulu-Natal Handicap League at Port Shepstone Country Club last Sunday.
In the other game, hosts Port Shepstone were too strong for visitors Selborne Park, beating them 8,5-3,5.
The win was vital, and keeps them in with a chance of winning the league. However, they’ll need Selborne to beat Umdoni, which looks unlikely.
Umdoni Park had a bye last Sunday.
It was a festive day, and the course was in good condition after the recent rains.
The final game will be held at Umdoni Park on November 20.
Umdoni will play Selborne, and Southbroom face Port Shepstone. Margate have a bye.
Three teams can still win it, so it should be an interesting final day.
