VEAN Oosthuizen is the South Coast Schools’ junior champion for the year.
He shot an 86 gross at Port Shepstone Country Club last Friday to win by six shots from Warren du Toit.
In third place was Shiven Govender on 93, followed by Chris Massey on 95.
The champs rounded off the year, after the league season earlier in the year.
James Coull won the B-division on 93, counting out Sian Pretorius.
Wesley du Toit was third on 98, followed by Cameron Coleman on 99.
There was also a teachers’ division, which saw a good score returned by Deneys Williamson, a 75 gross.
Frans van Rensburg was next on 85, with Francois Herbst 87. Karel Wilmot had 88.
Best nett for the girls was Alicia Fouché on 87, while Chris Hartzenberg won the boys’ nett on 71.
The South Coast golf team was chosen afterward.
It comprises Vean Oosthuizen, Warren du Toit, Shiven Govender, James Coull, Sian Pretorius, Chris Massey, Chris Hartzenberg and Adriaan Schonken.
Peter Brauteseth of Southern Natal Nomads was on hand to lend his support and congratulate the players.
