Five courts at Tweni, despite the heat
For some, being a spectator was a better option.
THE oppressive humidity made all at Tweni Tennis Club last Saturday think it was midsummer already.
Nevertheless, there were enough players for five courts and the revamped nets (thanks to chairman, Rod Norton) were much appreciated.
Chloe Dutton arranged the sets and provided tasty eats both sweet and savoury which were soon demolished to replenish energy in the energy-sapping heat.
Members were joined by visitors, Helgard du Preez, Kylan Guest and Brighton Dara and we hope to see them on the courts again soon.
Rob Browne made a welcome appearance and brought a different element to the men’s sets.
Peggy Igesund enjoyed being a spectator and catching up on all the news from her friends of old. Hopefully, she will soon re-locate to Sheppie and we’ll see more of her.
Committee members are reminded of the meeting to be held on November 5 at 11.30am. Please make every effort to attend.
Saturday duty: November 5 – Jean Marx.
