Swimmers splash out at Blue Ocean relay challenge

All swimmers displayed impressive fitness levels.

BLUE Ocean Aquatics (BOA) swim club hosted another of its popular relay challenges at Creston College recently. The event was sponsored by KuluCrete and attracted 18 teams which competed for the most amount of laps swum in 30 minutes or 45 minutes depending on the age of the swimmers.

Despite the extremely hot conditions, competitors remained focused and many records were broken.

The atmosphere was festive and the swimming enjoyed by all, even some parents who were roped in to swim by their enthusiastic children. BOA coach and organiser Mandy Koegelenberg thanked the sponsors and everyone else who played a role in making the day such a success.

The various age categories included (under 10) Little Dolphins, (11–20 year old) Shimmy Shakers and (21 and over) Last Minutes.
